4 Things I’m Looking Forward To
Another year has flown by, and it’s practically my favorite time of year again. It’s fall, and I thought I would start the season off by sharing a few things I’m looking forward to for the rest of the year.
I’m not a big football fan if I’m being honest. Like your average American, I’ll occasionally tune into a football game. However, I am a college student, and for a hot minute my college was undefeated for 25 games in a row. If that doesn’t spark a sense of pride in a school’s students, I don’t know what would.
So while I usually work on these days, I’ve made sure to request off for a few of our home games. It kind of feels like I’m finishing college really soon, and all I want to do is sit down and take it in before undergrad is over.
This is definitely one of my favorite things, and while I basically go year-round, Disney is at it’s best during the fall. Food and Wine Festival has just started at Epcot, and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party is about to start around the corner. Moreover, I’m planning to go to Hollywood Studios for the first time since getting my pass, and I am excited to experience Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge that just opened, and Toy Story Land that opened last year.
I feel that when you live in Florida, it’s easy to forget about the tourist attractions that so many other people travel from far and wide for. My sister cringes at me, but by having my Disney pass, I give myself permission to act like a tourist in my hometown.
This is another thing that is on my list year-round, but the thing about me putting it here is that I mean it on a smaller scale for the fall. I’ve had more opportunities than usual to travel this year–I started off the year with a trip to Indianapolis, then I went to New York City for ten days, and I took an impromptu trip to Memphis to name a few.
For the rest of the year, I just want to keep it low-key and local if I can. I’ve been saying for a while that I want to see the Christmas lights in St. Augustine, or to experience the Winter Park Autumn Art Festival. I’d say that the rest of the year, I would confine it to a four hour radius if I can.
My favorite holiday, every year. I love it, because it includes all my favorite things. I wake up when the parade starts, I start making Thanksgiving food, and then I can just spend time with good people for the rest of the day. At some point I used to go out and do the Black Friday shopping that everyone does, but at this point, it starts way too soon and I feel that it’s taken away from my favorite things. And this year, I really don’t want that, because I have someone special that I can share my favorite holiday with.
With all of these exciting things happening for the rest of the year, you can be sure that the last thing I want to do is spend my time laying in bed. That’s why I’m always looking for the best way to kick start my day without coffee, because no one wants to crash in the middle of all the fun.
What are some things that you’re looking forward to for the rest of the year? Do you have any Florida favorite locations that I should visit before the year is out? Is there anything that you would want to read, or see me write, so that I have a reference for the future?
